The following collection of images are from the 19th annual Ghat International Festival of culture and tourism,  this year entitled ‘Intergenerational Solidarity in the Oasis of Art and Beauty’ where the people of the folkloric city of Ghat celebrated their heritage and vibrant traditions despite the poor conditions they face.

Ghat is located 1200 kilometers southwest of Tripoli near the Algerian-Libyan border and is inhabited by the Tuareg tribes who organize the festival that attracts thousands of tourists each year.

The festival was attended by the ministers of tourism and culture in addition to several folk groups from various regions of Libya.
