In January 2015, UNHCR Egypt listed over 120,000 registered Syrian refugees, with unofficial numbers as high as 350,000 according to statistics from Egypt.

Syrians are faced with bureaucratic quagmires, xenophobia and poverty and rely on civil society organizations to help them navigate through Egypt’s maze of laws and to find new job and educational opportunities.
