I have of course been affected by the consecutive events and unrests. Our lives have become threatened. As a taxi driver since June 30, I have only been able to drive passengers within small-sized areas due to the demonstrations by both sides. I now earn no more than L.E. 20 (€2.10) a day and I sometimes go home without earning even a single coin.

All this is because of politics and the curse of the dispute between the Brotherhood and their opponents. I elected President Morsi because I thought he was better than Ahmed Shafik, who was a remnant of the National Party. I do not regret my choice because Morsi didn’t do what Mubarak or his cronies did. His only fault was that he was following the orders of the supreme guide.

Generally speaking, I respect Morsi. The situation is bad unfortunately and is getting worse by the day, especially after the dispersion of the sit-in in the Rabia neighbourhood by force, which claimed the lives of several innocent people. The victims’ only fault was that they were pro-Morsi supporters and against the coup. The killings of the pro-legitimacy supporters in order to muffle their voice was totally inhumane.

I expect there is going to be more violence if Morsi does not return to power, since his supporters are ready to sacrifice their lives for him. I expect the government will avenge all the supporters of legitimacy through detaining and killing them.
