Marwan Bakkar was born in Derna in 1988 and worked in local radio there for more than 10 years. Barkkar was a founding member and editor of the newspaper Ore Tobruk, 2011, and was a reporter for the Libyan official channel in 2015. He is currently the head of Tobruk's local media center and the official spokesman for the municipality of Tobruk.
