Mahmoud Shammam is currently editor-in-chief of 'Foreign Policy' in Arabic and director of 'Sout Al Kuwait' newspaper, as well as Washington manager of the Doha-based newspaper 'Al-Watan'. He is Executive Vice President of the Hot Source Media Company and a member of the administrative board of the Aljazeera Network. Shammam was an opposition activist during Muammar Gaddafi's rule, then responsible for media in the national transitional council during the revolution. He was editor-in-chief of the Arabic edition of 'Newsweek' as well as a member of the Middle East Center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
